Bravehearts
Robin Alexander started up Bravehearts during his year as Community Service Chairman in Hexham Roundtable in the late 1980s, the appeal he ran grew culminating in a Gala Event headlined by Dire Straits at the Mayfiair Ballroom (now the site of the Gate) which Raised £35,000.
It soon became apparent that the undertaking had grown beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and consequently Brave Hearts was registered as a Charity in its own right. This is now known as "Brave Hearts of the North East", and the Round Table link remains through donations and the Charity's Trustees, most of whom have been members of Hexham Round Table.
