It all started by Tablers wanting to 'give something back' to the people of Hexham...
There are one or two tales of Tablers with blackened faces and singed eyebrows!
Now, given the size and amount of fireworks used, Kimbolton (the firework suppliers and the only remaining British fireworks manufacturer) arrange and ignite the rockets, morters and candles.
Thanks to Waitrose who are generously supporting the event including providing the food, enabling Round Table to generate more funds for local charities and causes.
Thanks also to the local businesses such as Fourstones Paper Mill, Charltons and Lord Tool Hire who support the event yearly.
Food and refreshment stalls on the Sele will be manned by Hexham Ladies Circle (the sister organisation of Round Table), a local Muscular Distrophy support group and local scouts.
Please only buy glow-bands, burgers etc. from authorised stalls on the Sele. These will be manned by volunteers with Round Table vests and ALL profits go to local worthy causes. There will be no charitable vendors outside the Sele.

Following last year's successful 'Guy', Graham Robinson is again building a 'tableau' for the bonfire. Come along on the 4th to find out what subject he's picked this year! Graham was inspired by the Fallas festival of Valencia in Spain, where huge wood/cardboard/plaster statues (ninots) are burnt. Funding for the ninot is from the Arts Council of England.
The Sunshine Panners of Haydon Bridge will be playing in the Park Bandstand before and after the fireworks.

Please leave sparklers at home.. They can be dangerous and are difficult to clear up the next day.

Programme of events:
This year the spectacular event will take place on the Sele on Saturday November 4th. The bonfire will be lit at around 6.30 p.m. and the fireworks start at 7p.m. (timings dependent on the weather).
We recommend that you aim to arrive early as it can take some time to park and to get on to the Sele.

To prevent congestion overflow car parking will be available at Hexham Auction Mart and Tyne Green. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment and park with consideration to others.
