Hexham Round Table - 50th Charter Night

In 2002 we reached a momentous occasion in the life and history of Hexham Round Table ... our 50th Anniversary.

To mark the Golden Jubilee of Round Table in Hexham we held a 50th Charter Night celebration on 30 November 2001, which was exactly 50 years since the inaugural Charter Night held on 30 November, 1951 at the Royal Hotel in Hexham.

"On behalf of Alan Kelly and the existing members of Hexham Round Table, we welcome anyone with links to Hexham Round Table to join us at our Charter Night celebrations. We are planning an eventful and memorable evening packed with entertainment and good humour - truly a night to remember. The evening will also provide a wonderful opportunity to meet old friends and to rekindle the spirit of Tables past. This will be a great night of fellowship and as a member of Hexham Round Table, I hope that you will be able to join us in celebrating this landmark in our history."

The venue for the evening was the Tynedale Function Suite at the Hexham Auction Mart on Friday 30 November 2001, 7.00 for 8.00 pm. As usual, this was a stag night with speeches, dress was formal and medals worn with pride. There was a four course meal and after dinner entertainment along with a late bar.
